Watch a Huge Black Wolf Running Down a Highway at Top Speed [Video]

If you’ve ever wondered just how fast a wolf can run, you’re in for a wild demonstration. The amazing footage below demonstrates the impressive speed at which wolves can move, and features a large black wolf sprinting down a highway at top speed.

Wolves are formidable predators that can reach a surprising speed of up to 38 miles per hour when chasing down prey. For comparison, most dogs can only reach a maximum speed of about 19 mph, making them significantly slower than this massive wolf. The fastest dog breed in the world however, the Greyhound, can top out at about 45 mph.

In another spectacular wolf encounter captured on film, a wild wolf was filmed from a moving car as it was hunting a deer. The person who filmed the video noted that they had been driving at a speed of 37 mph (almost 60km/h) for two minutes before starting to record!

Few experiences can compare to the awe inspired by coming across a wolf in its natural habitat, let alone one that’s in the middle of a high-speed chase!
