Vets Rescue a Mystery Animal, Realize it’s an Aardwolf Puppy

Maple, a young aardwolf, was found dehydrated and too small to survive on her own in the wild. As time went on, Maple’s bond with her rescuer grew, allowing her to venture out and discover the world around her. Gradually, Maple transitioned from baby aardwolf bottle feedings to devouring bugs, which are a staple in an aardwolf’s natural diet. Aardwolf Puppy’s Rescue and Recovery

When rescuers discovered Maple, they were astonished. That’s because Maple is an aardwolf, a rare and shy creature that resembles a small stripped hyena (it is actually an insectivorous species of hyena). So rare, in fact, that most people will never encounter an aardwolf in their life.

Maple was found dehydrated and too young to be alone. She required urgent assistance, which led her to be taken to the right place – a wildlife hospital.

The hospital staff began to help Maple grow by using a special baby aardwolf bottle. As she grew, she started exploring her surroundings, initially hesitant to leave her rescuer’s side. Gradually, her confidence grew, and she explored every inch of the yard.

Maple continued to grow and reached the stage where she was ready for her first real meal of bugs, a significant milestone for a young aardwolf. Her rescuer recognized that Maple was prepared for the next phase – wilderness practice. To ensure she felt comfortable in the wild, her rescuer transferred her to a larger outdoor enclosure.

Maple was initially apprehensive about her new environment but soon discovered the presence of bugs. As she adapted to the surroundings, her rescuer continued to provide her with a bottle at night and breakfast in the morning. Eventually, the day arrived when Maple was ready to be fully wild, and she confidently ventured out, looking back at her rescuer with gratitude.

Maple had come a long way since her rescue and was growing stronger and braver each day. Finally, the day arrived when she was ready to be fully wild. Her rescuer decided it was time for her to experience the freedom she deserved. The enclosure she had been staying in was left open, allowing her to leave whenever she felt ready to embark on her new journey.

Initially hesitant, Maple eventually mustered the courage to venture into the wild. As she departed, she paused for a moment, looking back at her rescuers as if to convey her gratitude for the care and support she had received. With newfound confidence and a sense of independence, Maple took her first steps towards her life as a wild aardwolf.
